Dr. George Stoforos is an experienced food process engineer who provides technical and consulting services to the food industry in thermal processing, aseptic processing, food safety, food engineering, packaging, and FDA and USDA regulations and interpretation. Dr. Stoforos earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Food Science from North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC, USA) and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Dr. Stoforos specializes in food engineering, heat transfer, thermal and aseptic processing, and aseptic packaging. He is a skilled professional in research and development (R&D), microbial spoilage diagnosis, and data analysis, and he has gained experience during his academic and professional career. Dr. Stoforos continues to push the field of food safety, food engineering, and thermal processing and packaging, collaborating on educational research projects aiming for more sustainable and environmentally friendly developments that deliver a minimally processed, nutrient-dense, and safe final food product.
